On Monday, Marchelle, Tyler, Jacob and I met Katy, Colin and Tyler at the pumpkin farm. They had a good time but it was so hot that we left a little early.

Roxanne
Here's a couple of shots at Roxanne's shower, although there's only one of Rox!! The way I was sitting, I didn't get a lot of shots of the presents she received, but it will take from now till the time she has the baby to get everything put away!! Jacob really like Grandpa Sortino's scooter! But what he really liked was the horn!

Jacob
Marchelle, Tyler and Jacob are here for a couple of days. The reason for the trip is a baby shower. The kids Aunt Roxanne is having her first baby (due on December 4th). They're staying at our house and leave Wednesday. They'll head down to Hudson, NY to visit Tyler's Grandma and Grandpa, whom I believe have not seen Jacob in person. On their way home, they'll stop in PA and visit with the rest of Tyler's family. I can't believe how big Jacob is getting. I forgot to put the gate up and none of us were paying attention for a split second and Jacob got up 4 stairs before Marchelle noticed! The one bath picture (with Marchelle's head) he's showing off his new kissing skill and giving Tigger a kiss! LOL

Football Season!
Well, here we are. September and football! I love watching football and today is a perfect day to be lazy and sit in front of the TV. It's raining. It's not really cold - 67, but a little gloomy.
We have been so lucky or unlucky with the rain this year - depends on how you look at it. No rain in June (or very little). July was cool with rain (grass actually started to green back up) and August was a little of June and July mixed. Our local weatherman says we're about 7" below normal and I would say that's why the trees are turning so quickly now. They just didn't have enough water to sustain them.
David's and my Eagles lost today to the Packers while Tylers team (Steelers) walked all over Al's team (Browns - poor Al (now here's a devoted fan)). David's other team (Seahawks) are playing Richard's team (Bucs) so we'll have to wait and see what they do. And the best was that the Bills lost (sorry Aunt Peggy).
Now, you have to know that it's not really that I don't like Bills (they're ok). What it really is, is that I can't stand the Rochester fans. They jumped on the Bills bandwagon many years ago and if the Bills do good - you would think that they're the best, most devoted and dedicated fans. If they make one mistake, do anything other than play perfect, and God forbid....lose - the media rips them apart. Not a true fan in my book! I will always root for the Bills to lose even if I don't like the other team! Aunt Peggy on the other hand, is a true "Buffalonian" and a true fan - she has stood by them for years and years and so when they do lose, a part of me does feel bad.

September
Where did the summer go? It was here and then gone in a blink of an eye. I love summer! When September comes it's so sad. You can feel the change, smell the change. I have started to see the changes already. More leaves are beginning to fall - just a few - but you know what's coming. The other day on my way home from work, there was a small tree and it was all red!! Not fair! August with a red tree - I do believe that's suppose to happen more towards the end of September and beginning of October! Yesterday I noticed there was shade on the pool from the tree during the middle of the day. Normally, the pool is in the sun all day - just another sign that the sun isn't as high in the sky now. We have more and more birds visiting the birdfeeder every day. They're all eating like crazy getting ready for winter.
School sports have begun. We live so close to the school, that you can see the lights and hear the announcements from our deck. Actually, we've heard the kids practicing all through August - another sure sign of things to come!
Nights are getting colder. This morning it was 47. Once the sun goes down at night, it sure gets chilly quick. Good times for fires in the pit.
Time to start thinking of covering the pool. We will wait till the last possible moment to do that, although once the leaves start falling we really do need to cover it so they don't all go the bottom cause that just means Jamie has to get in the pool in the spring to get them out!
It was a good summer. We started at Mexico Beach in the beginning of June, and ended with family visiting all throughout August. What a great summer!!
